The Population Bomb

Hmmm, sounds very Malthusian I know.

Blah. I'm sitting in International Environmental Issues class which is a completely bogus class. I don't think I'm going to learn anything that I didn't learn in Intro to Intl Issues. I'm not sure whose fault that is. I think prof. Marten's fault maybe, because he was so personally interested in environmental aspects. Maybe also just the system- I wish people didn't have to take Intro, I knew almost everything from that class from 240 and 260 and what I didn't I'm having to re-learn here.
*sigh* Fortunately, this is the last completely silly Intl class I have to take and the last 100 level class I'll have ever.

Ranting aside, this is a pretty sweet term. The class I'm in now, while boring, is neither as boring as Intro or as ridiculously early in the morning. Africa studies and Diversity are all listening to guest speakers and the assignments pretty much just require showing up to class and there's no real reason to do the required reading. FA training is...fine.

I really want to go to Africa.

I also kind of can't wait till the Marathon. I ran 8 miles yesterday and felt amazing. I run so much faster now than I did before. It's exhilarating. Also, it was sunny and hot last night so I dug out a pair of shorts that I never wear and tied my dorm keys to my shoelaces. It was a beautiful night for a run. Bonus: the shorts I found work great so I will probably not be buying running shorts in the near future. I will however probably be buying a new sports bra soon, mine has seen a lot of use.

Not bonus: I forgot to put my keys back on my keyring so when I went to take a shower I locked myself out of my room and was stuck out in the hall in my robe. Fortunately Alexsondria helped me call the RA on duty to let me in.

In other news, this weekend will be awesome: NCM regional Leadership Conference. Sunday night after we get back I think I'm going to a ballet performance.

Here's hoping I hear back from the ICY people pretty soon.

Since I'm completely bored and don't have any actual schoolwork to do I am working on: my voter registration stuff, Summit registration, improving my speed reading, returning staff application for TBC, IJM stuff, French, running, and reading more books for fun.

Yay!
